A White Christmas!!

Hey Guys! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! Ours ended up being great! As you can see it snowed almost 4 inches on Christmas eve! That was really rare for us...I was 2 the last time we had a white Christmas. Every year I always dream of one, but the chances are almost zero. But it finally happened!! My family almost didn't make it over, but the roads started clearing around noon. We were so glad! Ahhhh...the snow was so pretty!

The patio is bare without all the flowers, but the snow made it pretty again for a few days.
Chase had so much fun playing in the snow. Here is the snowman he built...sort He loves legos and built this in about 5 minutes!

When my family arrived we opened presents! Chase got the most...

That's my mom and brother. She loves furry vests!

My mom and dad bought Chase the bike and had it on the front porch. It was his last present and he was so surprised!

We will celebrate Christmas again next weekend with my family from Kentucky. Do you have any big plans for next weekend? I still can't believe it will be 2010! OMGoodness!! Have a great week!!

Merry Christmas To All...

Merry Christmas! I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas eve. You are probably not on the computer like I am! I decided to do a quick post while Kevin was wrapping my presents(typical man waiting until the last We went to the Christmas eve service at our church tonight and then we went to eat at IHOP. Yum! We recently decided to have Christmas lunch over here tomorrow so I thought I better set my table! Although...we are in the middle of a winter storm! We can't believe it!! It is snowing like crazy. I hope everyone can make it over tomorrow, but we are expecting more than 4 inches! The last snow we had on Christmas was in 1975. We had an ice storm about 8 years ago, but no snow. Looks like we will have a white Christmas after all!!

Here is my table all ready for guests...I hope.

I bought the placemats at J.C. Pennies today at 60% off. I had everything elso from last year.

See all the snow! It's still coming down pretty hard!
I hope you all have a wonderful and most of all... BLESSED CHRISTmas!!

Mantles, Trees and Staircases...

Hey Guys! Can you believe it's almost Christmas day?! I was reflecting on some of the homes Sherry and I decorated this Christmas season. As you know I got behind on my posts, so I decided to consolidate some of the houses into one post. Now this is not all that we did, but it is alot of it.
I'll start with some mantles...
This one is very elegant.
This one is in a kitchen.

Very elegant...

A little rustic...

I love the snowy picture behind this one.

More elegance...

This mantle is in my best friend's house. I think it speaks for itself!

Rustic, yet elegant.

Trees...This tree is so much fun and very whimsical!

Whimsical yet elegant.

Very fun and whimsical! Love all the presents!

Elegant and sophisicated.

Love the royal blue and gold, such a pretty combination.

Here are two of the staircases we did...both are very elegant.

Well, those pictures were not exactly organized, lol... I hope you are all ready for the big day! I have been so caught up in the decorating and the hustle and bustle, but am now realizing and reflecting on what CHRISTmas is all about...I hope you are too! Thanks so much for your visit!!

My Ginderbread Kitchen and a Frame Giveaway!

Hey Guys! I thought I had better show you my kitchen before Christmas is over! lol...Time is just flying by! Here is my little gingerbread tree... I almost didn't put it up since I was so late decorating, but then I remembered it was already decorated! I just had to fluff it out and add some candy canes. Need to straighten that bow...

I've been wanting to show you this little gingerbread terrarium (that's what I call it). I've seen this done with all kinds of stuff and a local shop in town used snowmen, it was really cute. I had to make one so I thought it would be cute to use a gingerbread house and gingerbread men. I bought the candy canes and gumdrops because I was hungry, but decided to use them inside the jar! lol...My initial idea was just a house and some little gingerbread men, then it just grew from there. I bought the tall gingerbread man at Kohl's last's a candle holder.
I bought the Fitz and Floyd train several years's missing a few cars.
I used glitter and sand for the snow, but my mom asked if it was sugar...duh? Sugar would work and it would have been cheaper!

The house is actually a stocking holder and the gingerbread men are ornaments, I just pulled out the hangers.

The little candy dish came from Cracker Barrel last year. Mom and dad picked it up for me.

I was a little lazy this year...I didn't unwrap all those peppermints! Some of you might remember this from last year.

Here is my kitchen table. I had the place mats and centerpiece from last year, but added the plates and cups this year...they are from Wal-mart. They had some really cute stuff!

See my little candy salt and pepper shakers? Wal-Mart.
I made the gingerbread arrangement last year and found those cute glittered trees this year at Hancock's. I just love them!
Chase and I made the gingerbread house the other night. Or should I say I made it! lol...I kind of took over. Do you know what he said? "You just want to post it on your blog!" hehehe! I think he was more interested in the xbox anyway. I told him we would decorate cookies however he wants to next week. Oh...the candle is from Bath and Bodyworks and it is WONDERFUL! It makes my whole kitchen smell like cookies! They have them two for $20 right now in several different scents...I bought creamy nutmeg.
I picked up this little towel at Kohl's the other night. I thought it was so cute!
Now for the giveaway...I was going to give away something Christmas, but decided it was getting to close so I decided on a frame with the leopard print ribbon. This look has been the most popular. As you can see it has four different ribbons that resemble fabrics. They all coordinate well together and will go with most decor. If you would like to enter the drawing just leave me a comment and I will put your name in the hat! I will draw the winner on Sunday night, so be sure and stop back by to see if you won. I would love to ship it out on Monday so you will have it before Christmas.

Thanks for your visit! Merry Christmas!!!
